Call for Cases
Physicians from around the world are invited to submit their most challenging valvular heart disease case for the consideration for presentation during Valves in the Heart of the Big Apple VI: Evaluation & Management of Valvular Heart Diseases 2010.
General Information
- All accepted cases will be scheduled as 10-12 minute presentations. The Case Review Committee will determine length, based on the number accepted in a topic area and the relationship to others accepted for the same session.
- All presentations and question-and-answer periods will be in English.
- There is a $25 processing fee for each case submitted payable by credit card only. This fee is non-refundable and used to cover the cost of submission and processing.
- All accepted presenters must register for the conference in the appropriate category.
- Submitting authors will be notified via email in mid-February regarding acceptance disposition.
- Valves in the Heart of the Big Apple is unable to reimburse case presenters for travel, hotel and per diem expenses.
Policies
- Submissions with “INCOMPLETE” status cannot be processed.
- Submission of a case constitutes a commitment by the submitter to present if accepted. Failure to present and register for the meeting, if not justified, will jeopardize future acceptance of cases and abstracts.
- There is no limit to the number of cases an investigator may submit. If selected, the presenter must be the submitter in order to ensure accuracy of disclosures and submitted information.
- If selected for presentation, graphics must be submitted in PowerPoint format via email. NO MORE THAN 5 graphics (slides) will be permitted.
- Submitters that have cases accepted will be required to email their complete presentation by March 3, 2010, for review/coordination by the session faculty.

Call for Abstracts
Valves in the Heart of the Big Apple VI: Evaluation & Management of Valvular Heart Diseases 2010 (VIHBA) — the second joint session of the Heart Valve Society of America and Society of Heart Valve Disease — will provide the opportunity for authors to compete to present research in oral or poster format.
This is the first time that VIHBA — now a joint undertaking of Heart Valve Society of America and the Society for Heart Valve Disease — is inviting abstracts for oral presentation. We expect this will add to the interest of novel research and late-breaking data.
Abstract Policy
It is the policy of Heart Valve Society of America and Society of Heart Valve Disease to ensure fair balance, independence, objectivity and scientific rigor in its entire sponsored program. All poster presenters are expected to disclose to attendees any real or apparent conflict of interest related to the content of their poster.
Authors chosen to present posters will be required to sign a conflict of interest disclosure form to that effect.
Submissions should identify any author(s) who may have a possible conflict of interest by placing an asterisk next to his/her name.
